A Note On Snow

Published on February 6th, 2009

(I’m aware that this is late, as this is the third snow day this week, and the schools have gone back and ended again, but I’ve been ill and haven’t been able to get to a computer with internet access since Friday)

Some days it just feels like everything goes right. Today is one of those days. It’s a Snow Day. Yes, the news says that these are the worst snow falls in 18 years and London has come grinding to a halt, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that snow a bad thing…

For example, yesterday I noticed that I had more homework to do than was possible for a human being to manage in a night. Thanks to the unpredictability to British weather, I have now had time to catch up on all the work I had left.

And I got a chance to use my lovely new boots that I got yesterday, in anticipation of snow. J Love my lovely shoes.

So, you see, snow is sometimes a good thing.

There are other things you can use snow for:

Snowballs, snow angels, snow men, etc. My mum, brother and sister made a snowman, and I took pictures and videos of it. They called it Snozgudge. (picture to follow). Other things you can do with snow… ooh, write rude words in it, eat it (although I don’t recommend that), sneak up on people and put it down the back of their coats, which is always fun to watch…

Non-snow-based things to do on snow days…

Watching old home movies and wishing you’d had a visit from the ghost of fashion-victims-past, eating sandwiches (so long as they don’t make you ill), finishing homework you left very late, playing twister, monopoly etc. I’ve never played either of those but I’m told they’re fun.

Conclusion: snow days = good

And oh good god my fashion sense was bad when I was 10! And what’s more scary is that I’ve gone back to wearing the same sorts of things. Someone shoot me now… please…

(I was wrong about the sausage sandwich. It was fine. There was nothing wrong with it.)
